Compressed Work Weelk

I used to work a compressed work week and all though getting through those 10 sometimes 12 hours was tiring, it was worth three days off. Another benefit for me when I worked this shift was when overtime was offered, I could work one twelve hour day and still have two days off. Some other pros to a compressed work week is because of the extended work day, the traffic may be less stressful. Also with gas prices so high, you could save on gas and your car’s maintenance.
Some challenges or cons to a compressed worked work is it can be physically and mentally overwhelming. It can cause chronic fatigue which can lead to mood swing and affect your co-workers as well as your family. With having a compressed work week if you have children it can be difficult to find care in the hours you need. This is also the case if you have an elderly person that needs attention. So there are pros and cons to having a compressed work week. I found it to be beneficial to me and my family. I wish my current job offered this.
