In this paper I'm going to be talking about the pro-life perspective against abortion. I do not have much of a personal opinion on the topic of abortion but I'm going to talk about the killing of a human, fathers who want to keep the baby and the dangers of abortion for a woman. One moral argument against abortion is simply that the act is wrong because it is taking another human being's life. A person's view on this may be different based on the amount of months that the fetus is in the womb prior to abortion as a big argument in the ethical controversy of abortion is "when is a person human?" The definition of the word person is "a human being" and the definition of the word human is "having the nature of people." Based on this we could say that both words mean mostly the same thing. Over 20% of all conception is ended in abortion in the United States. When the DNA is generated inside of the egg, once the sperm has fertilised the egg; a human being is created, an entity that has the nature of people. This is the moment of conception.

Another argument against abortion is that of the father. The father has no choice in the matter if the mother wants to abort the baby. If the father wants to keep the baby, it isn't in his power to do anything about it. Equal rights is often expressed as a very important issue today but when it comes to abortion the father who had an equal part in creating the child can be denied his child entirely. I personally know somebody who was affected in this way and was not happy to know that his baby was being aborted, regardless of his opinion on the matter. There are many situations in which men are not allowed to be fathers when they want to be and this can cause relationships to become very destructive or it may cause them to break entirely.
