Essay of Purpose

When I was in Middle School, we got to dissect bullfrogs. What really inspired me was looking at all the organs and figuring out how they function and work together to keep the body of the frog going. I remember that I was the one who cut it open and that was the first time I had seen the little organs like those before. It was very exciting for me to see and dissect a bullfrog. Another time I went out into a field with my class and collected different types of algae. Then we went back, put them under a microscope and studied them.
What I really enjoy about science is biology. What really interested me was studying the natural world, using the latest scientific tools and techniques in both laboratory settings and the outdoors to understand how living systems work. I think it would be really fun to work in exotic locations around the world, and what I discover will increase my understanding of biology and may be put to practical use to find solutions to specific problems. I would like to collect different biological examples from all over the world and study them. Another job for me would be to make technological designs and help build them.
I would like to participate in this apprenticeship program because it would be a good way to learn about college life, and would help me when I go to college. I think it would be a good way to meet new people and make new friends. It would also be a good way to gain experience from scientists and other students that know about science. Another thing is that it will give me a chance to learn more about science that I already know.
