Cause and Effects of Alcoholism and Smoking

I wrote my essay on alcohol and cigarettes and addiction and how it correlates and the cause and effects of it. I wrote how alcohol when used in excess can cause problems in your life. And also how cigarettes have their own factors of harm to your life and how addiction plays a role in this. Alcohol for one may seem not so harmful at first. Almost everyone drinks alcohol and does it without harming themselves to an extent. But there are some out there who drink alcohol to an excess which causes them health problems, such as failed liver, insufficient GI track and among others. Cigarettes on the other hand are a different but similar story. Cigarettes cause cancer and increase your chance of stroke and heart attack. Cigarettes and alcohol are both addicting and cause serious health problems and it could cause you to have social problems as well. For one you can be at a point in your life where you are dependent on alcohol in which it is a case where you to have it in order for you to function on a daily basis. This can cause you to lose your close ones and most of the people you love.
Alcoholism and smoking are two bad habits that most people in this world employ on themselves. People in this world drink for many reasons, one for example is to be social among your peers and the other is to numb out your emotions. Smoking is tied to alcoholism but people smoke for many reasons such as a need to have one every other minute. Alcoholism is defined as a chronic disease with genetic and environmental factors influencing its development and manifestations. Smoking on the other hand is described as being cancerous and extremely addicting.   Alcoholism is often progressive and fatal in which it is a pattern of drinking that causes harmful consequences. The many causes of alcoholism run deep into the family genus system and can cause numerous effects to the present family and social status.
