After the past few days in class, I started thinking about where I want to be at the end of my college career. Leading up to Bridge I was scared to start my life, and on the first Mrs. Higgs made a point to say that your life does start here in college, but it also starts after you’re done here. High school was all about preparing for college and being “ready for life”, and I feel like the same thing is true for college. I’ve made new friends, and already had new experiences in the past week, and I know that it’s just going to be crazier over the next few years. The end goal for me is getting a degree and then going on to get my doctorate degree to become a psychiatrist for special needs children. I don’t know how I am going to get there, but I know what I want the end goal to be.

I know that a lot of people have different ideas of success and most people measure it by either money or happiness. I on the other hand have a sort of mixture of that. I know I want to be happy when I’m older, but I also want to be financially stable, and my ideal “successful life”, is being married with my kids with a nice car, and being able to stay at home and take care of my kids either financially, physically, or both. That’s my idea of success, and I know that other people have different opinions, but everyone is different.  

After watching Randy’s lecture in class, I saw someone who literally has nothing left but a few months, who was not only happy, but also content and just ready for what was next. But his outlook on life wasn’t what impressed me the most, but the fact that he was able to complete his dreams, and check them off. I mentioned my first goal already; getting my doctorate in psychiatry. Another one of my goals is getting on the deans list at least one time by graduation. The last of my goals is to have my major declared by January 1st 2014. Each of these goals is measurable, specific, and obtainable...
