PERSONAL STATEMENT

I have the desire to leverage on the knowledge, and contacts I will obtain from being a student of University of Northampton to participate in the on-going economic revitalisation of Africa in general and Ghana in particular.

The United Kingdom has a great educational system that has trained many great Ghanaians, including Edward Akufo-Addo (2nd President of Ghana), Dr. Joseph Boakye Danquah, Dr. Kofi Abrefa Busia, a former prime minister, former president John Kufuor and Akua Kuenyehia (First Vice-President of the International Criminal Court) just to mention a few. The analytical and research strengths of higher education in the United Kingdom make its curricular a preferred choice for my career aspirations.

There are four main reasons why I believe that studying at The University of Northampton - Ghana campus will serve me well for my future ambitions.  

First, the core academic standards of The University of Northampton is globally recognized as being first class. In particular, I am certain to benefit from a world-class experience and research-led teaching. The highly-rated quality of delivery and innovation in programmes and the rich menu of academic choices coupled to a highly supportive and state-of-the art learning environment are exactly what I seek.

Secondly, focusing on my ambition to build a career that is heavily research-oriented, I have come to appreciate that in the last Research Assessment Exercise (RAE 2008), several research subjects areas including Business and Management at University of Northampton were recognised as world-leading and internationally excellent, This makes The University of Northampton one of the high-quality academic institutions that promotes a combination of established history and cutting-edge research that would offer me an unparalleled combination of instruction underlain by proven and tested research methods.
