The purpose of recognising and learning from mistakes is so you will get it right next time, you will not have to ask people to explain how to do the particular task.
The benefits of recognising and learning from mistakes is so colleagues know you can do that specific task and they can trust you go get it right and not have to wait for you to correct it. You will gain confidence knowing you have learnt something new.
»           Example – Last year during the school holidays we had a lot of
educational visits and journeys (EVJ’s) come through and we were short staffed, a colleague showed me how to process them so I was able to help out. At first I did not pick it up but after recognising and learning from my mistakes I was then able to help out.

standards for own work
The purpose of agreeing and setting high standards for own work is so that it is consistent throughout, that is why you use templates or look at standards.
The benefit of agreeing and setting high standards is because you know you have done that piece of work correct up to standard and to the best of your ability.   Colleagues can then rely on you to produce any work knowing it will be of a high standard. It will also give you confidence knowing you have learnt something new
» Example – I had to type up minutes of our team meeting but I had not done them before so a colleague showed me where the template for them was saved on the computer and showed me previous ones she had written up so I knew had they are meant to look like so mine could be of a high standard
